Deployment & Stress
The first program I would like to identify is The Air Force Personnel Center . The AFPC has many programs, the one I will focus on is pre-deployment. For pre-deployment, they will brief the service member about the deployment and get them ready to depart. They also encourage family members, spouses etc to reach out and they will provide them resources, and services if they cannot attend the pre-deployment briefing. The program will equip family members with information, support and assistance. This service is offered through each service members base of operation wherever they are located. This can be vital for families pre-deployment because it can prepare and educate them on what the deployment may look like in order to best prepare their families to endure the deployment as best they can and use the resources made for them when they need them.
The second program is called Support Military Spouses. This is a neat organization that provides support to military spouses, whom often bare the brunt of the family load while their military spouse is deployed. This program offers support during deployments to spouses such as care packages, money managment workshops, and care packages to children of deployed parents. This support during deployments is so important to often over stressed, isolated military spouses. Knowing someone cares about them, and their children during this stressful time can make all the difference in their emotional wellbeing and resilience during the deployment.

Hello Crystal,
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to see that you focused your attention on support offered for pre- deployment. Most of the programs and organizations that I found were oriented mainly towards helping families after deployment, so it was nice to read about an organization aimed at preparing the families for the future.
